news_item_1All Good Fairtrade and organic bananas will be available in more stores around New Zealand in an exclusive sales and distribution partnership with T&G (formerly Turners & Growers).

T&G’s extensive distribution will allow more Kiwis to be able to buy All Good Bananas, especially in the South Island. Both parties envision increased access will grow the market for All Good Bananas by 30%.

All Good and T&G will also be looking at ways to expand their range of certified Fairtrade and organic products, offering Kiwis a wider choice of ethical and sustainably farmed fresh produce.

“We’ve come a long way since launching New Zealand’s first Fairtrade bananas in 2010. Working together with T&G will ensure we can do an even better job by getting our Fairtrade and organic bananas to people who haven’t been able to find them in their local stores.” says All Good Bananas co-founder Simon Coley.

“It is great news for our customers and for our growers in small banana farms in El Guabo, Ecuador who will benefit even more. There will be no changes to quality and the All Good Banana brand that Kiwis have come to know and love and we’ll be able to reach more customers,” he says.

All Good will continue to work closely with famers in El Guabo and reach out to Kiwis showing them how Fairtrade and sustainable farming can improve their lives and the lives of others and how they can make a difference by buying All Good.

T&G will take over distribution from October 26, 2015, handling the ripening, distribution and sales support for All Good Bananas.

“T&G is excited to secure the exclusive sales and distribution rights for All Good Bananas,” says Executive General Manager NZ Andrew Keaney. “This new partnership will allow All Good the ability to reach more customers throughout New Zealand by utilising our well established national transport network, strategic ripening and market locations, but more importantly through this partnership we are looking to offer our customers and consumers more choice and an expanded range of Fairtrade and organic produce.”

All Good Bananas have become a Kiwi favourite over the past 5 years, pioneering Fairtrade bananas and making them available in supermarkets and independent grocers around the country. They have managed to capture 6% of the highly competitive banana market and now contribute to an even greater percentage of banana sales in some central city stores. In New World Victoria Park in Auckland, 30% of bananas sold are Fairtrade followed closely by New World Thorndon in Wellington where 24% of bananas sold are now Fairtrade.

Last year, retail sales of all Fairtrade bananas in New Zealand grew by over 76 percent, according to Fairtrade ANZ.

All Good Bananas

All Good Bananas is a New Zealand owned company that only trade in the good stuff- food that is good for the producer, the land and the consumer. The company is New Zealand’s only 100% Fairtrade banana importer, working with the El Guabo Fairtrade Cooperative of small farmers in Ecuador.
