T&G Global (formerly Turners and Growers) is supporting a new search to find New Zealand’s Outstanding Produce.

The 2017 Outstanding New Zealand Food Producer Awards are being run by Marvellous Marketing and NZ Life & Leisure Magazine to hunt out the country’s top produce and producers. T&G Global is supporting the search to choose the country’s favourite food region.

Kiwis across the country are being encouraged to vote for their favourite spot for fresh food and dining in the Turners & Growers Outstanding Food Region 2017.

People can vote through the website https://nzfoodproducerawards.co.nz/food-region/ and will be prompted to do this with via a social media campaign in February and March 2017.

As well as the vote for Turners & Growers Outstanding Food Region 2017, there is a People’s Choice or popular vote for New Zealand’s favourite specialty food store or supermarket, farmers’ market, produce or producer.

T&G Global is also encouraging its growers to enter their produce in the awards. The Outstanding New Zealand Food Producer Awards will be judged in early March by a panel of experts lead by Lauraine Jacobs, well known for championing New Zealand food locally and abroad. Lauraine is a past president of Food Writers New Zealand and the IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals).

One producer creating benchmark goods of exceptional quality will be named NZ Life & Leisure Outstanding New Zealand Food Producer 2017 and eight others will be category winners.

The grand winner will receive a major feature story in NZ Life & Leisure and marketing services valued at $5,000 from the organisers of the Awards, Marvellous Marketing, to help them maximise the benefits of winning the award.

All winners will receive publicity, photos and materials to use in promoting their product and brand. All finalists and winners will be able to use Outstanding NZ Food Producer Awards Medals on packaging and in sales marketing communication.

Voting for the Turners & Growers Outstanding Food Region 2017 runs until the mid-April 2017.

Producers must register to enter their produce by Friday 17 February and it must be in Auckland by Wednesday 1 March for judging on Thursday 2 March 2017. Finalists will be named on 20 March 2017 and the winners announced in the May 2017 issue of NZ Life & Leisure.
